What’s the integration everyone can’t seem to live without? – Microsoft Outlook

Bullhorn has expanded its offering by providing Bullhorn for Email.

What’s Bullhorn for Email?

Bullhorn’s website describes it as follows:

“Bullhorn for Email integrates the Bullhorn ATS seamlessly with Gmail and Outlook so that you can view your email inbox directly within Bullhorn. Easily parse in resumes, add notes, and create new tasks and appointments from candidate emails. See the latest info about your candidates while in your inbox, and access a sender’s full contact record from an email by jumping to Bullhorn with a single click.”

What Are The Advantages of Using Bullhorn for Email?

A recent press release from Bullhorn on the subject of Bullhorn for Email indicates that they believe the following functions are the most attractive features of the Bullhorn for Email integration.

  • Zero footprint deployment
  • Visibility of candidate information from a window in the email browser
  • Initiate recruiting and sales tasks from inside email browser
  • Significant reduction of “clicks per day” bouncing between Bullhorn and Email
  • Email tracking for specific clients
  • Access to email record for the sender
  • Device agnostic – any computer, smartphone, or tablet

Why Do Some Recruitment Agencies Struggle With The Implementation And Use Of Bullhorn’s Microsoft Outlook Integration?

As you’re likely aware, integrations can be tricky things. One toggle switch turned to the wrong position on a settings console, and the integration just won’t work – no matter how good the developers are.

So what are the common culprits?

  • Security – Sometimes security settings get in the way and keep the two software solutions from “talking” to each other as envisioned by the developers of the integration.
  • Complexity – Integrating one system to another brings up an entirely new set of variables that sometimes have not been completely vetted. Data and data dependent processes can be very involved, and the problem that the integration was intended to solve can sometimes be overwhelmed by all the scenarios that could occur. (This isn’t usually a problem with integrations built by experienced and reputable developers, but can be an issue in new integrations or poorly implemented integrations.)
  • Maintenance – Integrations between software applications are kind of like highways between major cities. If they are not carefully maintained, a change to the application software on one side or the other can throw off the integration entirely and break the connection. As a result, integrations must be updated (or at least reviewed for function) along with new version releases of software.
  • Coordination – Part of the advantage of integrations is the ability to funnel data to the places – and people – that can use it most effectively. However, as with any project aimed at efficiency, challenges can arise in the transmission, security, and user access to that same data. To avoid this issue, integrations must follow pre-determined security protocols and conform to internal rules-based access.

Is It Worth Integrating Bullhorn With Outlook?
